FOSTERING
How It Works
Connecting Pets with Loving Families
1Becoming a Stray Rescue foster parent is one of the most helpful, heartfelt things you can possibly do for a homeless companion animal. As a foster, you provide a temporary loving home for an abandoned dog or cat until he or she finds a furever home. Many of those we rescue have lived difficult lives on harsh city streets, and fosters are essential to showing these animals what it means to trust, feel safe, and experience comfort. Whether your foster is with you for several days or several months, the knowledge that you helped immensely will last a lifetime.

2To be a foster parent, you must also have an application on file and:
- Be 21 years of age or older and have identification showing your current address
- Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord (if applicable)
- Be able and willing to spend the time necessary to provide proper care for the dog

Our Mission
Paws, People, and Purpose
Animal Rescue and Advocacy Foundation
GOALS
Paws, People and Purpose Animal Rescue and Advocacy Foundation (P3), is a nonprofit
501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the welfare of and advocacy for animals in need. Through
direct care, partnering with other animal rescues, and its wide variety of paths to success P3
achieves this while always focusing on care and compassion.
DIRECT ANIMAL CARE
P3 serves as a first responder when an animal needs assistance or its life
is in danger. A "Boots on the Ground" approach to problem solving assures the fastest
solution to the immediate needs of animals. P3 then helps to find either short term foster
placement or permanent adoptive homes.
COMMUNITY OUREACH
Being known, and available, is paramount in helping animals.
This is
realized through patnerships with other animal rescues, participating in community events,
bringing meet-ups, and assisting with transportation to spay & neuter programs. This outreach
exists not only in cities, but in rural areas where no resources are available.
EDUCATION
By providing information before any need arises P3 proactively prevents tragedy
before it happens. Keeping the public and industry workers aware and up to date is a critical
and powerful tool in the success of our mission.
LEGISLATION
Navigating the legal aspects of animal advocacy affords P3 the ability to keep the
public informed on laws that govem them, and to ensure that those laws are in the best
interest of the animals as well as those that care for them.
PURPOSE
Paws, People, and Purpose Animal Rescue and Advocacy Foundation bridges the gap between
an animal in crisis and a healthy pet in its forever home. We keep in mind our responsibility to
stand up and advocate for as many animals within our reach as possible, we give a voice to
animals that are lost, neglected, forgotten, left behind, and whose owners have found
themselves in times when surrender is what's best. P3 does all this through its rescues,
mobilizing communities, and transforming compassion and care into lasting change.
